DAY 1 / THE SKY IS EVERYWHERE

DAY 1 / THE SKY IS EVERYWHERE

Beneath the same sky: grief, fear and hope as shared human realities, a reminder that what is felt in one corner of the world can be understood in another. These films explore the invisible threads that bind us, who/wherever we are.

DAY 2 / LIMINAL LOVE

DAY 2 / LIMINAL LOVE

How does love survive in the in-between? When you can't go back to what was & when the future is unclear, love still finds a way to grow through the cracks in the concrete. These films explore the complications of love under the pressures of colonial violence, gentrification & late stage capitalism.

DAY 3 / HERE & NOW

DAY 3 / HERE & NOW

Sifting through sift through what remains. Looking back becomes an act of rediscovery, as personal histories intertwine with land, belonging, and the traces of past lives. Together, these films reflect on what endures long after moments have passed, and what we choose to remember.

Enxhi, Faranak, Ruba, and Cindy bring the archival image back to life, giving it a second chance. They invite it to wear a new costume and look at itself from a slightly different angle. These films grew out of an exercise in extension: starting from a single image, we manipulated it, let it decay, and kept pushing at what it could still mean. The projects also worked through personal archives, asking what it means to blend the domestic into the global, and to let private histories circulate differently. The result of two years of academic discussion and difficult conversations about what film heritage is, these films ask how we might engage with it in today's political context. Together, they consider what the future of archive-based filmmaking could look like, and how we might rescue both the image and the non-image.
